The Rendezvous: A French Cafe in Bangkok

The original business plan was formulated in a French cafe in Bangkok. The founders and a chosen few met there during Q4, 2020 to lay down and finalize plans to launch a for-profit social enterprise; a social impact video production house and consultancy.
Our vision was to create an accessible global platform to catalyze growth by connecting people with coach leaders who can inspire change to make the world better. Our mission was to create and deliver content that can open minds, inspire, and catalyze people to take action to help them grow and make a positive impact on the lives of those around them.

What is a social enterprise?

A social enterprise is a type of business that has a social or environmental mission as its primary goal, alongside making a profit. Rather than solely focusing on maximizing profits for shareholders, a social enterprise aims to create positive social or environmental impact through its products, services, or business practices.

Social enterprises often operate in areas where traditional businesses have failed to address social or environmental issues, such as poverty, inequality, or environmental sustainability. Examples of social enterprises include fair trade organizations, cooperatives, and social impact startups.

In addition to generating revenue, social enterprises measure their success based on their ability to create positive social or environmental outcomes, such as improving access to education or reducing carbon emissions. Some social enterprises may also reinvest their profits back into the business or community to further their social mission.

Does CI Media take a Social Activist approach?

No, we are not social activists. Our approach uses “entertainment” to engage and inspire audiences to take action. This can take the form of social impact entertainment, entertainment education or edutainment. We focus on engagement, outreach and distribution and build coalitions (companies, organizations and influencers) to amplify the impact. Depending on the objectives of a campaign, we may use film and video production, online games, live events, the metaverse and more to deliver social impact messages designed to spark positive change by entertaining and inspiring audiences.

What is CI Media’s Mission?

To design engaging cause-related marketing campaigns that build coalitions and deliver business growth and social impact through purpose.

Why is CSR important for a company?

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is important for a company for several reasons:

  1. Reputation and Brand Image: CSR can help build a positive brand image and enhance a company’s reputation. A company that is perceived as socially responsible is more likely to be trusted and respected by customers, employees, and stakeholders.
  2. Employee Engagement and Retention: CSR can help companies attract and retain employees by providing them with a sense of purpose and engagement in the company’s social and environmental initiatives.
  3. Risk Management: By engaging in CSR activities, companies can mitigate risks associated with environmental, social, and governance issues. This can help reduce regulatory and legal risks, as well as reputational risks.
  4. Stakeholder Relations: CSR can help companies build stronger relationships with their stakeholders, including customers, investors, and communities. By engaging in socially responsible practices, companies can demonstrate their commitment to addressing social and environmental issues, which can help build trust and loyalty among stakeholders.
  5. Innovation and Growth: CSR can drive innovation and growth by encouraging companies to develop new products and services that address social and environmental challenges. This can create new market opportunities and help companies stay competitive in a rapidly changing business environment.

Overall, CSR is important for a company because it can help improve its financial performance, enhance its reputation and brand image, mitigate risks, and create new opportunities for innovation and growth.

How can CSR contribute to the community?

CSR, or Corporate Social Responsibility, can contribute to the community in several ways. Some of the key ways in which CSR can benefit the community include:

  1. Philanthropy: One of the most direct ways in which CSR can benefit the community is through philanthropic activities, such as donating money, resources, or time to social causes. This can help support community-based organizations and initiatives that provide essential services to people in need, such as education, healthcare, and housing.
  2. Sustainability: CSR can also contribute to the community by promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. Companies can adopt sustainable practices and technologies that reduce their environmental impact and contribute to the long-term health and well-being of the community.
  3. Job creation: Companies can also contribute to the community by creating jobs and providing economic opportunities. This can help reduce unemployment and poverty, and provide individuals with the means to support themselves and their families.
  4. Volunteerism: Companies can encourage employees to volunteer their time and skills to community-based organizations and initiatives. This can help build stronger relationships between businesses and the community, and provide valuable support and resources to local organizations.
  5. Community engagement: Companies can also engage with the community by listening to their concerns and ideas, and collaborating with them to address local challenges. This can help build trust and goodwill between businesses and the community, and contribute to the long-term sustainability and success of both.

Overall, CSR can contribute to the community by promoting social, environmental, and economic sustainability, building stronger relationships between businesses and the community, and supporting the essential services and initiatives that help people thrive.

What factors affect CSR?

CSR, or Corporate Social Responsibility, refers to a company’s efforts to contribute to the well-being of society and the environment, beyond its financial interests. There are several factors that can influence a company’s level of CSR, including:

  1. Organizational culture: The values and beliefs of a company can impact its level of commitment to CSR. Companies with a strong culture of social responsibility are more likely to engage in CSR initiatives.
  2. Stakeholder pressure: Pressure from stakeholders, such as customers, investors, employees, and NGOs, can push companies to prioritize CSR. Public pressure can also lead to increased government regulations on CSR.
  3. Financial resources: The availability of financial resources can affect a company’s ability to implement CSR initiatives. Companies with more financial resources may be better equipped to invest in sustainability programs, for example.
  4. Industry norms: Industry norms and standards can influence a company’s CSR practices. Companies in industries with high environmental or social impact may face more pressure to engage in CSR.
  5. Legal requirements: Legal requirements and regulations related to CSR can impact a company’s level of engagement. For example, companies may be required to report on their sustainability practices or may face fines for environmental violations.
  6. Leadership and governance: The leadership and governance structure of a company can also impact its level of CSR. Strong leadership and effective governance can help ensure that CSR initiatives are prioritized and implemented effectively.
What are the four pillars of social impact?

The four distinct areas of social impact are human, social, economic and environmental. These are also known as the four pillars of sustainability. We work with companies and organizations to produce cause marketing campaigns and CSR Projects that help improve the human capital in society.

What does LOREM meanyyy?

‘Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisici elit…’ (complete text) is dummy text that is not meant to mean anything. It is used as a placeholder in magazine layouts, for example, in order to give an impression of the finished document. The text is intentionally unintelligible so that the viewer is not distracted by the content. The language is not real Latin and even the first word ‘Lorem’ does not exist. It is said that the lorem ipsum text has been common among typesetters since the 16th century. (Source: Wikipedia.com).
